EPOCH FIVE OF SIX · 1800 – 1945

Steam and coal multiply what a person can build and move; revolution in France and reaction across Europe rewrite who gets to rule; and a century of rising nationalism and empire ends in two wars that kill on a scale nothing before had matched.

It is the shortest epoch on this timeline by far, and the one that changed daily life the fastest. Most of the technology an ordinary household used in 1945 simply did not exist in 1800.
