Scope and output
A new-build timber house holding two self-contained dwellings, planned as a mirrored pair about grid 2 on a 7 200 + 7 200 mm span. Each dwelling has its own entrance node — stepped porch, glazed veranda and loft hatch to the cold attic — so the two units share nothing but the party wall. External walls and the walls on grids 2 and B are solid timber beam 175 × 175 mm. Internal partitions are 100 mm gypsum fibreboard on metal studs.
The envelope is a ventilated rainscreen: mineral wool boards to EN 13162 behind flat fibre-cement sheets to EN 12467 on timber battens, with thermal performance assessed to EN ISO 6946 and an interstitial condensation check to EN ISO 13788. Escape doors carry panic and emergency hardware to EN 1125 / EN 179 with self-closing devices to EN 1154 and smoke seals to the rebates. Each entrance is served by a portable roll-up ramp 1 000 × 2 050 mm for wheelchair access.
